From my xp its 50\50, Ive notice south Europe ppl looked down on me when I say am mexikang, but da thing is these same ppl thought i was Italian or Portuguese fo some reason 🤨

Hilarious how they forget the fact that a large majority of Latam, especially Mexico, was under regulations that only allowed Europeans in, essentially whitening the population around the 1800s

Yeah in 1800, most mexicans weren't mestizo at all, basically spanish were segregated from indios. It was only after the 1820s where race mixing happened a lot. Mexico essentially became mestizo around the Mexican revolution. But Americans thought they were all brown due to the fact that the poor would be heavily indigenous while the rich were european in origin, and poor people have more incentive to immigrate.
