At least five different fire departments were on the scene Saturday night as flames swept through a northwest Harris County home, killing two people, officials say.
The fire broke out around 8 p.m. in the 11400 block of Milners Point Drive.
The Northwest Fire Department was the first to respond, with crews arriving to find the home engulfed in flames and heavy smoke.
Firefighters attempted to enter, but had to retreat because there was too much heat.
Other departments joined in to assist, with at least 75 fire personnel on hand, according to officials.
Crews were eventually able to bring the fire under control and search for victims.
Two people were found dead in the living room.
The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
