A Hollywood woman is pleading for help getting her beloved 10-year-old pit bull mix back. She said a woman took her dog named Diesel while he was tied up outside a beauty supply store.
Eve Harlowe said she took the dog for a walk with her to the store near her home at Washington Street and South 21st Avenue, and only left him outside for a few minutes while she went inside.
She’s also concerned because she says Diesel has a serious medical condition.
“I don’t drive,” Harlowe said. “So I walk everywhere and I take him with me because he needs exercise, he needs to use the bathroom. So whenever I go out I take my dog with me.”
She watched surveillance tape of a woman walking away with Diesel and putting him in a car.
“When I saw the tape, it was just like my worst nightmare,” Harlowe said. “He means everything to me. Like, I don’t have children. He’s my kid.”
Harlowe said the fact the woman “didn’t stop to ask someone if they knew who owned the dog and just took it” makes her “nervous.”
Diesel struggles with severe intestinal problems.
Harlowe said the woman involved had been in the supply store herself. She’s checked with animal shelters in the area to see if Diesel has been brought in, and also has asked around to see if anyone has seen him.
She said she is just praying the woman meant well.
“She doesn’t know what’s going on with him and she doesn’t know how to deal with it,” Harlowe said. “I know she’s going to make him sicker than he already is by giving him whatever food she has for him, so just give me my dog back.”
