From cellphone connection issues to dirty neighborhood canals, the KPRC 2 Investigates team is in the community this week working to get answers for you! We are looking into what some are calling a cellphone dead zone in a popular area of Montgomery County. Plus, a stinky, trashy mess floating in canals off of Lake Houston and residents say they can’t figure out who to call for help!

Other team highlights this week includes:

  • Questions over Astroworld permitting
  • How to complain about surprise medical bills
  • Stronger Houston: treating children with complex medical issues

Community fed up with bad cellphone coverage

People in one growing area in Montgomery County say they have a huge problem -- they can’t get cellphone service in their neighborhood.

The problem is not just annoying, it could be dangerous if someone needs to call 911. This issue is going on for customers who use various cellphone providers, and they say nothing is being done to fix it. They contacted KPRC 2 Investigates for help. Investigator Bill Spencer talked with neighbors and heard from the community builder about solutions they’re looking into.

Questions over Astroworld permitting continue

Days after the governor’s Task Force on Concert Safety released its report following the tragedy at the Travis Scott concert on the opening night of Astroworld, questions are being asked about the permitting process.

KPRC 2 Investigates attempted to connect with multiple attorneys, officials, and management at NRG Park this week to discuss the specifics of permitting, however, only one official who was involved with the tragedy agreed to go on camera for an interview. Investigator Mario Diaz has the update.

Morning coffee and watching the sunrise from a beautiful lake view sounds like a dream life, right? People in one neighborhood off of Lake Houston say they can’t enjoy their scenic views because of a huge mess right out their back doors. We’ve had several people in the Crosby area contact us after they say they tried everything else to get help. Investigator Amy Davis is getting answers about who is in charge of the clean-up.
