Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner is expected to announce the start of the 10th Annual Liftoff Houston Startup Business Competition Wednesday morning.
The Liftoff Houston Startup Business Competition, which is sponsored by Capital One Bank and administered by the Houston Public Library (HPL) and the Office of Business Opportunity (OBO), is a professional and educational mentoring program for those who have the entrepreneurial spirit.
The competition, which will begin at 11:30 a.m., will be based on three categories: Service, product and innovation. The winner of each category will receive $10,000 in seed money from Capital One Bank.
