Uber says masks are no longer required; CDC still recommends wearing them

Uber has joined many other businesses that have moved forward by no longer requiring mask use for rideshares following the CDC decision to its end mask order.

Although riders and drivers will no long be required to wear a mask when using an Uber, the CDC still recommends wearing them.

Uber has also updated its no-front-seat policy, which no longer requires riders to sit in the backseat, however, it is being asked to still give 03drivers space if possible. The company also noted that drivers and riders should still take safety precautions while Ubering, such as rolling down windows for extra airflow, sanitize hands before and after trips and always cover your cough or sneeze.

Masks may still be required by law in some areas. Drivers and riders are being asked to check their local requirements regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. Everyone using the Uber platform is required to comply with applicable laws and regulations while doing so.

Lyft has not announced if they will relax its mask policy.
