A woman has been charged after one of her children, a nonverbal 7-year-old child with autism, was found wandering outside while the younger siblings were left a home alone Sunday night, according to Harris County Pct. 4 deputies.
Blanca Nunez, 40, has been charged with child endangerment.
Deputies were called around 8:43 p.m. in the 16400 block of Noble Meadow Lane to reports of a child walking down the street unsupervised, according to officials.
Responding deputies said it was discovered that the child and younger siblings were left at home alone. Deputies were able to get in contact with the children’s’ father who was at work and had no knowledge of the mother’s whereabouts.
Deputies said the mother returned and advised them she was at a bar. Nunez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail.
