News Missouri City PD officer injured after pursuit with suspect ends in shooting, police say

A Missouri City police officer is recovering at a hospital after Houston police say he was shot by a suspect during a pursuit early Saturday.

Details on what led to the pursuit were not immediately available. According to HPD, officers began pursuing the suspect at South Post Oak and Beltway 8.

At some point, the suspect reportedly fired shots at officers as the pursuit ended in the 6100 block of Maywood Drive near Missouri City.

That was when one officer from Missouri City PD was wounded, according to HPD. He was transported in the back of a patrol vehicle to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The suspect was at large for a short time until HPD said in a tweet that they were taken into custody “at a local hospital.”

An investigation is underway.
