[QUOTE="KPRC2, post: 62593, member: 148"] A search for a suspect is underway after police said a maintenance worker was shot and killed by a man at an apartment complex in southwest Houston Thursday night. Officers with the Houston Police Department received reports about a shooting at an apartment complex located at 1400 Marshall St. around 11:54 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man that had been shot in the chest. The man was transported by emergency officials with the Houston Fire Department to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to investigators, the suspect in the shooting was demanding keys from a woman who witnessed the incident. Police said the woman told the suspect that she didn’t have the keys and the suspect pulled out a gun and fired one round. The victim, who was a maintenance man for the apartment complex, reportedly confronted the man about what he had done and the suspect shot him in the chest, HPD said. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Right now, police said they are unsure whether the suspect lives at the apartment complex or not. They’re getting contradicting statements. [I]This is a developing story. KPRC 2 will have more updates as they become available.
