Do you think there's a way to actually compete with giants like Twitter and Instagram?

I mostly say this because of their nature to copy any new app with promising features.

I suppose if you do pose as genuine competition to them, best case scenario; you get acquired.

Developing seems super complex and difficult, tbh.

what's a startup idea that doesn't involve developing now, tbh?
I see a lot of cheap shit being sold on Amazon

Content creation is another route

Maybe you should focus on what you like doing, but if you’re more business minded the idk how those people approach things

hmmm, manufacturing products does sound interesting to me.

But costs to start are high and it's less likely that you'll receive funding.

Depends you can start with things like stickers and shirts, maybe key chains

I see a lot of regional stuff that looks poorly designed that probably makes money in touristy areas

You defiantly have to like the work though to keep you driven, you’re not getting paied by the hour

A buddy of mine hit me up with the idea of starting a clothing brand but I turned it down because I knew we weren't going to get anywhere without some type of factory access.

That’s not true with good designs and streetwear markup you can turn a profit doing business with a screen printer

Look at big brands like ftp, foul play, brain dead, they all started from the ground up without their own machines

what's so special about a Gildan tee with a logo stamped on it?

From my perspective, we need actually unique products.

I’d say it’s what the logo represents and also the graphics appeal to people who like the original artwork over contrived safe designs of corporate mall brands

You could say the same for sneakers
Why is an air force with a check on it better than a sketcher shoe that’s half the price and does the same thing

problem is apps are like lottery tickets more luck than quality
the giants won't let you compete with them while you need their traffic to reach an audience
other wise no one will know of your product.

tech giants utilize mainstream and the government to promote themselves
search engine bias is another hurdle.
