- A 25-year-old man is charged with three counts of murder, including one as a domestic violence offense, four days after intentionally causing a fatal accident that killed three people on the Bruce Highway in Federal, Queensland, Australia. - Capital punishment in Ghana
- The Parliament of Ghana votes to formally abolish the death penalty, becoming the latest African nation to end the punishment. The 176 prisoners currently on death row in Ghanian prisons will now have their sentences changed to life imprisonment. (BBC News)
