- Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin declares that he will "stop" the Russian military leadership as fighting occurs between members of Wagner Group and the Russian military, after the latter allegedly attacked Wagner forces. (The Moscow Times) (The Guardian)
- Yevgeny Prigozhin says that a "huge number" of his forces have been killed in airstrikes by Russian government forces, and personally blames Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu for ordering the attacks. He also calls for a "march of justice" and asks Russian soldiers "not to resist". - The FSB begins a mutiny investigation into Yevgeny Prigozhin, demanding that "unlawful actions be stopped immediately". Russian President Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the situation, with "necessary measures" being taken, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. (TASS) (TASS 2)
- The Prosecutor-General of Russia Igor Krasnov formally orders the arrest of Prigozhin on charges of calling for an "armed rebellion", with authorities urging Wagner personnel to refuse his "criminal and treacherous orders" and detain him. (NPR)
