Check your route: Here are your weekend construction updates

If you’re headed out this weekend, construction could impact your drive. Here is a list we’ve compiled with the information we have so far from the Texas Department of Transportation, just in case.

KPRC 2 traffic expert Anavid Reyes has assembled this list of work-zone hot spots that are confirmed as of Friday morning.

Weekend closures:​

IH-10 Katy Freeway​

• The I-10 Katy eastbound connector ramp to I-610 West Loop southbound is closed due to emergency repairs. This will definitely impact your commute. The ramp will be closed until at least sometime this weekend. We will provide updates as they come. Plan ahead!

Galveston County: Gulf Freeway​

• This weekend IH-45 Gulf Freeway southbound between FM-517 and FM-2004 all main lanes will be closed for roadwork starting Friday night at 9 p.m. until Monday, 4/25 at 5 a.m. Traffic will detour via the frontage road. Seek an alternate route to avoid traffic.

SH-225​

• The SH-225 eastbound connector map to the East Loop northbound
• • Detour: IH-610 South Loop westbound to Broadway Boulevard; U-turn at Broadway Boulevard back to IH-610 East Loop northbound.

Ironman Texas in The Woodlands​

• Lake Robbins Dr./Grogan’s Mill: 6 -10:20 a.m.
• Timberloch/Grogan’s Mill 6 -10:30 a.m.
• Grogans Mill/ Woodlands Pkwy. (out) 6:05 -10:25 a.m.
• Woodlands Pkwy/S. Panther Creek 6:10 -10:40 a.m.
• Woodlands Pkwy/Gosling 6:15- 10:45 a.m.
• Sawdust/Budde 6:30-11:05 a.m.
• Pruitt/Budde 6:30 a.m. -6 p.m.
• Pruitt/I-45 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• I-45/Spring Woods Village Pkwy 6:35 -11:30 a.m.
• Spring Stuebner/Northgate Crossing 6:40-11:40 a.m.
• Northgate Crossing/Hardy Toll Road 6:45 a.m. - 5:50 p.m.
• Northgate Crossing/I-45 9:55 a.m.- 5:55 p.m.
• Sawdust/S Park 10 a.m.-6:05 p.m.
• Sawmill/Grogan’s Mill 10 a.m.- 6:10 p.m.
• Woodlands Pkwy/Grogan’s Mill 10 a.m.-6:15 p.m.
• Grogan’s Mill/Timberloch 10 a.m.- 6:30 p.m.

Long-term closures:​

South Loop​

• The South Loop westbound connector ramp to SH-288 will close until 5 a.m., Monday, May 30.
• One eastbound feeder road from SH-288 to Scott Street will be closed continuously until 5 a.m., Monday, May 30.
• The U-turn lane of the eastbound feeder road of SH-288 at FM-521 Almeda Road will close continuously until 5 a.m., Monday, May 30.

59/610 interchange​

• Westheimer exit from the 610 West Loop northbound main lanes is shut down for the next several months.

North Freeway​

• The southbound I-45 North Freeway service road, south of Cypresswood Drive is closed due to the Cypress Creek Bridge being reconstructed by TxDOT. If you need to get a location south of the area towards FM-1960, you need to get on the main lanes of I-45 and exit at Richey Road.

Gulf Freeway​

• Northbound and southbound lanes on the Gulf Freeway from FM-518 to FM-517 in League City will have one lane closed in each direction happening daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, September 30.

75th Street Bridge over Brays Bayou​

• Crews will shut down the 75th Street bridge over Brays Bayou for bridge repairs. This closure is now active and will be in place for a year. An alternate route in the area to consider is Harrisburg to Wayside.
