[QUOTE="KPRC2, post: 61654, member: 148"] It’s an exciting day for students and staff at Klein ISD as they prepare to head back to the classroom for the first day of school. More than 53,000 students are enrolled in Klein ISD. It is one of the largest school districts in the area with 33 elementary schools, 10 intermediate campuses, and five high schools. There will be some changes to the district’s calendar this year. In December, the board of trustees unanimously approved option three of the proposed calendars which was selected by 60% of all respondents in the calendar survey. Staff and student holidays will be held in October, November, December, February and March. Two former graduates from Klein Collins High School will be stepping into leadership roles within the district. Charissa Rodgers and Charla Wilson are identical twins. The twins said that their love for education blossomed with opportunities they were offered while attending Klein Collins High School. The two will be taking on a new challenge together this year as principals in the school district. Charla will be the new principal at Mahatfield Elementary School and Charissa will be working at Chron Elementary school. “I would say it’s truly an honor,” said Charissa. “We have that Klein family that is here to support us but I also have that built-in identical twin sister who is here for me,” said Charla.
