Deputies are investigating after a wrecker driver reportedly shot a man while exchanging gunfire with him during an altercation in northwest Harris County Monday.
Precinct 1 Harris County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 5700 block of W. Mount Houston.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man that had been shot twice, HCSO said. He was transported to the hospital by officials with Harris County Emergency Corps in unknown condition, deputies said.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a wrecker driver and a man got into an altercation and the man pulled out a gun. The wrecker driver also pulled out a gun and both of the men exchanged gunfire, Gonzalez said.
Pct 1 units responded to the 5700 blk of W Mount Houston in reference to a male with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they learned a wrecker driver and an adult male got into an altercation and the male allegedly brandished a gun. The wrecker driver also retrieved a gun & both 1/2

Investigators said the wrecker driver drove to another location and waited on deputies.
Several vehicles at the scene were reportedly damaged when deputies arrived.
