$200,000 investment gone?
A Houston man said he invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency only to find out he can’t access the account. Jeff McCollum thought he had done his research before investing through an online company.
Robert Arnold is on the case explains what happened so you don’t make the same mistake.
You may remember, Amy Davis met with a teen who lost thousands of dollars in a similar investment. In that story,
we talked about ways to check companies before investing.
Missing money from a now-closed bank
Losing a jacket or your phone is frustrating and inconvenient, but you can usually retrace your steps to find out where you left them. Now a Houston man has hit a dead end trying to find money his mother invested in a certificate of deposit nearly 30 years ago.
Amy Davis found out about what happens to money if a bank closes.
Finding solutions to make schools safer
Solutionaries: ‘It’s everybody’s responsibility.’ Why security experts, and educators say safer schools mean going beyond the classroom. Experts say early intervention, and resources are just as important as physical school safety changes.
This is an early preview to a portion of the upcoming Solutionaries episode.
Be sure to like and subscribe the Solutionaries YouTube channel to catch the upcoming episode on making schools safer which streams on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
Plus, KPRC 2 Investigates’ Robert Arnold will host a live chat on Thursday, Aug. 25 with a former U.S. Secret Service agent who now works to secure schools in Texas. Stay tuned for those details!
Saving money on auto insurance
If you renewed your auto insurance in the last year, you probably received a bill at least 10% more than what you paid last year for the same or less coverage. Hopefully you didn’t just pony up the extra cash and renew because there are some Ways 2 Save on car insurance.
Amy Davis explains what you need to do.
Special Edition of Spencer Solves It!
The Spencer Solves It team led a massive project where volunteers helped build and distribute bicycles for refugees. Thousands of families escaped Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul last year. Many of the families who have resettled here in Houston worked for the United States military and lost everything, including their children.
See how we helped bring a little joy to the children in that community.
