Daniel P. Foganholi will be sworn in Tuesday morning as the Broward County School Board member representing District 5.
Foganholi was appointed to the position by Gov. Ron DeSantis to fill the seat vacated by Rosalind Osgood, who is now a Florida state senator.
If Foganholi wishes to keep his District 5 seat, he would have to run against at least five other candidates in November, who have already filed to run for the seat.
The winning candidate would serve on the School Board for a two-year term.
According to a press release from the governor’s office, Foganholi is from Coral Springs and is currently a design consultant for Arhaus, a furniture company.
“He currently works with the American Brazilian Coalition, is an active member of his church, Habitat for Humanity, and Feeding America,” the press release stated. “Foganholi earned certificates in marketing and business management from Florida Atlantic University.”
The press release made no mention of whether Foganholi has any experience in education, although that is not a requirement for serving on the School Board.
