Ulta Beauty under fire for using ‘insensitive’ wording in email promotion of Kate Spade product

Many social media users are calling out Ulta Beauty after the company sent out a mass email promotion in collaboration with Kate Spade.

Twitter users accused the company of using an “insensitive” word that refers to how the fashion designer died. In 2018, Kate Spade died by suicide and it was later revealed that she hanged herself in her New York City apartment.

In the email promo, people received the message, “Come hang with Kate Spade.”

I don’t understand how that Ulta/Kate Spade email was sent. Several people would’ve checked that subject line. I just… what. Unacceptable.

Ulta is wrong...clearly. either this is grab negative attention in hopes of clicks or some ignorant arse who doesn't get that this is not even slang or knows anything Kate spade.

Whoever wrote the incredibly crass email headline at Ulta for the Kate Spade event yesterday also managed to do it on the first day of Mental Health Awareness Month. An ignominious start by demonstrating the carelessness people tend to have around this topic.
