The city of Houston’s COVID-19 community level was moved to “high” as cases and hospitalizations increase, according to the Houston Health Department.

Health officials are asking residents to consider wearing a mask in public indoor settings, regardless of vaccinations status, and to get tested if a person develops symptoms.

As of Monday, the city’s 14-day average COVID-19 positivity rate is 30.1% and the wastewater virus load is 774% of the baseline, which is a decrease in trend from last week, according to the health department.
