Deputies arrested the operator of a recycling yard on Tuesday in the Florida Keys for failing to keep a proper record of his scrap metal purchases, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The requirement is designed to prevent the illegal sale and purchase of stolen metals.
Ihosvany Almaguer operates Keys Recycling, at 1280 107 St. Gulf, in Marathon. Detectives accused Almaguer, 35, of failing to document three transactions involving aluminum.
Almaguer is facing charges for violating
recordkeeping requirements.
