- South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declares martial law in an emergency address to the nation to clear out alleged "threats posed by North Korea's communist forces and to eliminate anti-state elements." President Yoon says the decision has been made to "remove North Korean forces" and to protect the country's "liberal constitutional order".
