- Nuclear program of Iran
- The International Atomic Energy Agency says Iran has reversed a slowdown of its enrichment of uranium, at which it is enriching uranium to up to 60%, bringing it closer to the enrichment level required to make a nuclear weapon. The increased production was verified at the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility. (Reuters)

- Fukushima nuclear accident
- The Tokyo High Court rules that TEPCO, the operator of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, will be solely responsible for compensating evacuees, while reducing the amount by half of what a lower court had initially ordered, and absolved the government of any liability. (AP)
- Crime in France
- In Sevres, Île-de-France, a man is arrested for killing his four children and their mother. At their flat in Meaux the previous day, the five victims were found dead. The mother and two daughters were stabbed several times, while the couple's two sons were suffocated or drowned. (AP)
