At least three people were injured after a fire broke out at Prairie View A&M dorm building, according to the university housing.
Emergency officials said they responded to the fire when it was reported just before 6 a.m. on campus.
Officials said the building was evacuated and all building residents were accounted for by the professional staff on the scene. Three injuries were reported in the fire.
The university’s student affairs team is working to assist impacted students with relocation arrangements.
The cause of the fire is unknown and currently being investigated.
