Elaborate on lithium?
It is a trace mineral, seemingly an important one.

According to Joel Wallach, it’s required for normal mental health and behavior.

It benefits longevity in C. Elegans and higher levels in water are associated with less mortality.

Improves healthspan in mice:

It inhibits GSK3 and activates Wnt. I’ll research GSK3 and Wnt. I know Wnt promotes intestinal stem cells “Upon aging, reduced canonical Wnt signaling is one of the causes of the impaired regenerative capacity
and proliferation of ISCs”

Wnt apparently acts on other stem cells not just ISCs

“Isolated Wnt proteins are active on a variety of stem cells, including neural, mammary and embryonic stem cells. In general, Wnt proteins act to maintain the undifferentiated state of stem cells, while other growth factors instruct the cells to proliferate.”

Interesting.

Will take a look at those and similar studies. I think I recall Haidut sharing a study that found that lithium was a reliable treatment for some mental disorder that I can’t quite remember at the moment.

Yeah, thx for asking about lithium I definitely need to do more research on it. I kinda just started takeing it after reading good things about it. But I will say since takeing it my mental health improved considerably, although I was also changing other factors in my diet and lifestyle. I take 5 mg of lithium a day in the form of lithium orotate (not 5 mg lithium orotate)
