Four migrants are dead and three others are injured after an attempted human smuggling incident in Laredo, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Lt. Chris Olivarez, a spokesperson for DPS, said three people were transported to the hospital in critical condition, including the driver and accused smuggler who had to be airlifted.
“This is the second deadly human smuggling event within 24hrs,” the lieutenant said.
